At PHS I learn things like culinary level cooking skills and how to work well with others. I love to be part of a team and being in a FACS class I get to take advantage of that by working in groups with other classmates. Ultimately, that makes learning more fun. With the group projects and hands on projects I have a chance to express my creativity and show what I'm capable of in real-world settings. Therefore, FACS is my favorite subject because it combines life skills with teamwork and creativity.â€

Role model: Anna Braswell. “She was my summer league swim coach when I was first learning to swim and later became my swim coach at Pattonville High School. She has made such a big impact on my life, constantly encouraging me to push myself and be the best version of me. Coach Braswell never fails to make someone smile as she brings positive energy everywhere she goes. Every time she steps onto the pool deck her presence lights up the space as her smile is contagious. Even in tough situations she remains calm and works hard to keep the athletes excited. Her ability to make swimming fun taught me to enjoy the process and always work hard. I would not be the swimmer or person I am today without her support and constant belief. I hope to carry that energy with me as I grow into a collegiate athlete and adult.â€

Role model: Lacrosse coach Grace Zagursky. “She never fails to support us and wants the best for us. No matter our needs, if it is a Band-Aid or someone to talk to, she is always there. She is such a positive person, but also incredibly dedicated to her work. I admire her grit and optimistic attitude that expects greatness from each one of us.â€

Goal: “I would love to either be a CPA or work somewhere in the finance world. I am fairly interested in Wall Street and can definitely see myself pursuing a job there or somewhere similar. I would like to raise a family and be the best father I can be.â€
Favorite subject: AP BC Calculus. “I love working at calculus, discovering new things and performing well due to my hard work. Since eighth grade, I had been working on different forms of algebra, so this year when I started taking calculus, I was astounded by the multitude of things that I did not know but just made sense. I now spend my hour-long activity period each day in my calculus classroom doing my homework and asking my teacher questions.â€

Role model: My father, Michael Zimmerman. “My three most important parts of my life are my faith, academics and athletics, and my father very well embodies these things. He has raised me to love God and dedicate my life to Him. He has also taught me the importance of academics and has helped me grow my interest in business, as he worked at multiple different investment banks on Wall Street. He was also a star water polo player who was extremely dedicated to the sport. His extreme work ethic, determination and sacrifice for our family make him a great role model.â€

St. Mary’s Southside: Jayden Robinson

Goal: “I want to make money through doing real estate wholesale to eventually get into commercial real estate and also create a clothing brand.â€
Favorite subject: “Coming into high school my favorite subject (was) always math. During my time at St. Mary's, I have gained a love for English. I love writing and being able to express my opinions and thoughts through essays and class discussions.â€

Role model: Pharrell Williams. “I look up to Pharrell because of my interest in my fashion, but aside from that he is a great businessman and incredible innovator. He has great creative qualities that you need to have success in the fashion industry.â€
