ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A late-night senior prank at Normandy High School that damaged school property may result in charges for those involved.
Part of the prank was and reached around 88,000 views on Facebook by Tuesday afternoon. It showed at least three people inside the high school, talking about “breaking the metal detectors†and spraying an aerosolized substance on the school’s windows.Â
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Det. Benjamin Santoyo with North County Police Cooperative said students also spread ketchup and mustard around one area of the school.
“That’s kind of it to the extent — a senior prank ending in criminal mischief, unfortunately,†Santoyo said.

Possible charges of misdemeanor property damage will be sought, Santoyo said.Â
The extent of the damages remains under investigation and won’t be divulged until the investigation is closed, he said.Â
Santoyo declined to say how students managed to get inside the high school after hours.Â
“We don’t want to promote any defects or anything like that that would hinder the school safety protocols,†Santoyo said.
Normandy Schools Collaborative spokesperson Christopher Trahan said Normandy high opened on schedule Tuesday morning.
He referred other questions to law enforcement.
