The Boston University hockey team has 14 players who have been drafted by NHL teams.
That talent was on full display Thursday night.
Jack Hughes and Cole Eiserman scored goals in the second period to propel the Terriers to a 3-1 win over Penn State in an NCAA Frozen Four semifinal game in front of 16,814 at Enterprise Center.
Boston University (24-13-2) will face Western Michigan (33-7-1) for the national championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Hughes, selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round of the 2022 draft, broke a scoreless tie by pouncing on the rebound of a shot by Matt Copponi just 95 seconds into the second period.
Eiserman converted on a nifty 2-on-1 off a perfect pass from Cole Hutson just over nine minutes later. Eiserman is the top freshman goal-scorer in the nation with 24.

Jack Harvey added an empty net goal in the closing minute on an assist from Hughes.
Penn State winger Nic DeGraves got his team close with a goal from close range 2:12 into the final period.
Boston University freshman goalie Mikhail Yegorov, chosen by the New Jersey Devils, stopped 32 shots.
The Terriers' 14 NHL draftees is most among the four teams at the Frozen Four.
Boston University has won five national titles, the last in 2009. It fell to Denver 2-0 in last year's championship game St. Paul, Minnesota.
Penn State (22-14-4) was making its first final four appearance.
