ST. CHARLES COUNTY — St. Peters and St. Charles officials announced Sunday that a boil water advisory has ended after test results by an independent lab confirmed the water is safe.
St. Peters and St. Charles had issued boil water advisories after a water interconnection pipeline co-owned by the two cities was struck and damaged Thursday by a private contractor, causing a major loss of pressure.
Repairs were completed Friday night, but the boil advisory for water used for drinking, cooking and washing dishes had remained in effect while the repaired water main was flushed and tests were completed.
St. Peters officials announced lifting the order around 7:45 a.m. Sunday after receiving test results, and St. Charles' announcement came a few hours later.
