ST. CHARLES — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting late last week, police and prosecutors say.
Officials say they arrested Damon John Campbell Jr., of Maryland Heights, following an investigation that began early Friday, after officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Lee Drive, in a subdivision near the middle of the city. Someone had been yelling for help in the street.
When officers arrived, they found the person who had been yelling, who led them into a nearby home. There, officers found Bobby Jackson, 19, in a bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the chest, . He was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
Officials said further investigation led officers to Campbell, who they say shot Jackson following an argument over marijuana.Â

Prosecutors with second-degree murder and armed criminal action and said he was being held without bond.
