CLAYTON 鈥 A man was found shot dead in a Ferguson home last week, six weeks after he declined a bribe to keep him silent in a rape case he reported to police, according to court records.
Kcoree Warren, 44, was found last Tuesday afternoon just inside his home in the first block of Bayview Drive. He died at a hospital, police said.
Earlier this year, Warren filed a police report alleging Lavor Harmon, 39, of Ferguson, had sexually assaulted a teenage girl in mid-March, police said.
Harmon is accused of meeting a 15-year-old girl who was walking home from school, court documents say. The two exchanged phone numbers and, on March 21, Harmon is accused of taking her shopping and then to her house where he sexually assaulted her.
In June, Harmon was indicted on four counts of second-degree statutory sodomy.

Investigators in that case wrote he is currently on federal supervision and a federal database says he was released from prison in early January.
Court records say he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute and in 2020 was sentenced to 68 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
On Friday, authorities charged Harmon鈥檚 sister, Lavonda Harmon, 44, of Houston, Texas, with tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution.
Investigators said Lavonda went to Warren鈥檚 home in Ferguson in late May accompanied by a man not identified in court documents.
There, she tried to convince Warren not to participate in the prosecution of her younger brother.
The unidentified man then offered Warren $12,000, police wrote.
Warren did not take the money.
Six weeks later, someone came to Warren鈥檚 home and killed him, police said.
Investigators at the time of the shooting said officers were looking for a man in his 20s believed to have fled the shooting scene in a white SUV.
Ferguson police on Tuesday said they had not arrested a suspect but were following 鈥渟trong leads.鈥
鈥淭his was a targeted incident,鈥 Capt. Tim Harris said. 鈥淪everal tips are still coming in at this point, and if anybody has any information please call the police department.鈥
When reached by phone, Warren鈥檚 family said they were not speaking with the press out of fear for their safety.
