Valentine is a 2-year-old treeing walker coonhound mix who came to HSMO’s Maryland Heights shelter in June as an owner surrender. She previously lived with kids and other dogs and did well. Valentine was shy when she first arrived at the shelter but has slowly been coming out of her shell and gaining confidence. HSMO recommends a quiet household for Valentine.

Annie is a 9-year-old miniature horse who came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in May as an owner surrender. Annie hasn’t had professional training under saddle from Longmeadow’s trainers, but she’s perfectly fine with a small child hopping on for a pony ride. She’s gentle and manageable enough for a responsible 10-year-old to catch, groom, and pick her feet. She’s sweet around kids and seems to enjoy their company.
